Setting up your environment

Before beginning, you need to prepare your computer to assure the process works correctly.

To set up the working environment:

Create a working directory for the kit on your hard drive.
Copy the kit (.db or .zip file) you received from the project manager to the directory you created for the kit.
Change the working directory of the OpenEdge icon to the directory you created for the kit. To change the properties for an icon, follow these steps:
Double-click “My Computer” (your hard drive icon) Windows Start Menu Programs OpenEdge.
Click once to highlight the OpenEdge icon.
Choose File Properties.
Choose the Shortcut tab folder.
In the Start in field, enter the name of the directory you created for the kit in Step 1.
Choose OK.
